Do Now: Reflection on a piece of art. Write all of the words that you can think of that you associate with this piece of art.
Critical Thinking Question: What is art? Why is it useful to have different ways to express yourself? How does rhyme scheme affect meaning in a poem?
Content: “Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?” Student Poetry
Objective: We will be able to write the first two stanzas of a sonnet poem and be able to recognize rhyme scheme.
Class Activities: Class Brainstorm, Time to work on Sonnets, and Class reflection.
