Works Cited and In-Text Citation


MLA Format
(You must reference all of your sources throughout your writing so that you give credit to other people’s research and ideas.)

Books:

Lastname, Firstname. Title of Book. Place of Publication: Publisher, Year of Publication.

Book Example:

Wordsworth, William. Lyrical Ballads. London: Oxford U.P., 1967.

Periodicals & Newspapers:

Author(s). "Title of Article." Title of Periodical or Newspaper Day Month Year: page numbers.

Periodical Example:

Poniewozik, James. "TV Makes a Too-Close Call." Time 20 Nov. 2000: 70-71.

Newspaper Example:

May 2007: LZ01.

Therefore, when you find a book, magazine, or newspaper you need to copy down the citation information and page numbers from the book that you use!
